Next Wednesday, February 22nd, 4-5PM, I will be presenting a special Cartooning Lessons workshop at the Snapology in Tinton Falls. I’ll work one-on-one with the kids to help them design their own characters and use comics to tell a short story. All participants will receive a free signed copy of my graphic novel, The Fifth Quarter. Register Here. Space is limited.
TUBI
(Possibly because I put on too many movies like the ones I’m about to talk about) My son likes me to lay with him at night while he falls asleep. Usually while that’s happening, I’ll put a movie on on my phone. Recently I realized a lot of the movies I was searching for in the TV app were available on Tubi. What is this low-rent, you have to sit through a few ads, streaming service I wondered? Turns out, it’s the one that’s got almost everything that I’m interested in watching. And, also, it seems, a lot of folks are starting to notice. It’s got a good catalogue, but also, I wonder if maybe people are finding it’s nice to have a streamer that you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription for. It’s nice to have access to stuff and all you have to give in return is two-minutes to sit through an ad. Kind of exactly like how TV used to be. We keep reinventing the same stuff.
